The robust structure of the outer ring makes them suitable for applications subject to significant stress and intensive work cycles.

While performing a similar function, cam followers and roller followers differ in how they integrate into the system structure. Available space, support characteristics, and mounting methods therefore guide the choice of the most suitable configuration.
Cam followers combine the rolling function and the fastening system into a single component. The integrated stud allows for direct mounting onto the structure without requiring a separate shaft, simplifying the component’s integration into the machinery.
Roller followers feature an internal bore and are installed on a pre-existing shaft within the machinery. Different configurations of the outer ring and rollers allow them to be adapted for use as track rollers or cam rollers, depending on the loads to be supported and the operating speed.
The range of roller followers offered by MBI includes different configurations in terms of internal structure, load capacity, and operating speed. Each series has specific characteristics to be evaluated in relation to the intended operation and the method of integration into the machinery.
These are roller bearings characterized by a thick-walled outer ring, guided on the stud by rollers or needle rollers retained axially. They are suitable for static or high loads at low and medium speeds and can be used as track rollers or cam rollers. The CF series is available in metric sizes, while the CR series uses inch sizes.
Non-separable full complement roller followers with laterally guided rollers. They are designed to support high static loads and repeated stresses. The range includes versions with a crowned outer ring, identified by the suffix R, and versions with a cylindrical outer surface, identified by the suffix SL.
These are non-separable roller followers in which the cage keeps the needle rollers spaced apart, promoting free and smooth rotation. This configuration is suitable for applications requiring higher operating speeds. Versions marked with the suffix R feature a crowned outer ring.
The full complement configuration uses a larger number of needle rollers, offering a higher load capacity at lower operating speeds. It is therefore suitable for applications subject to heavy loads and relatively low rotations. This series also allows for relubrication through the designated hole.
For relubricatable roller followers, correct long-term management requires attention to the frequency of maintenance, the type of lubricant, and the position of the hole during mounting.
